Group Head of Tax
Pure Search are partnered with a global technology business looking to hire a Group Head of Tax based in the UK to lead the international tax function. This is a remote-first opportunity with offices in London for those that prefer office presence.
Responsibilities:
- Set and drive the organisation’s international tax direction, ensuring tax considerations are embedded into growth, expansion, transactions, and major strategic initiatives.
- Act as the senior tax authority across corporate and indirect taxes, transfer pricing, international reporting, tax governance, and contentious matters.
- Establish and maintain a robust global tax control environment, including policies, processes, reporting protocols, responsibilities, risk assessments, and governance documentation.
- Provide oversight of worldwide tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filings while managing complex requirements across the US and other key jurisdictions.
- Lead transfer pricing strategy and governance, covering intercompany arrangements, documentation, benchmarking, risk management, and related disputes.
- Manage relationships with external tax and legal specialists, determining when specialist expertise is required and ensuring advisors deliver effectively against the organisation’s needs.
- Drive the development of scalable tax technology, automation, and data capabilities, working closely with Finance and IT to improve efficiency, control, and visibility.
- Build a high-performing tax function through coaching, capability development, succession planning, and strong collaboration with Finance and the wider business.

Requirements:

- ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent
- UK based - despite the role being largely remote, successful candidates must remain in the UK
- No Visa Sponsorship available - candidates must have the right to work in the UK
- 8+ years operating in-house at Head of Tax level or equivalent for a large multinational organisation
- Broad tax experience across Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, and Transfer Pricing
- People management skills is advantageous
- Experience of working within the technology space is advantageous but not compulsory
This is a full-time opportunity, remote-first with London offices available. Base salary in the region of £150,000 - £200,000 + bonus and benefits.
