About the Role

We’re growing and elevating fast at Third Space, and now is the chance for a leader in fitness education to join us. This is one of the most visible and business-critical roles, with a direct impact on the quality of our Personal Trainers, the experience of our members, and the reputation of our brand. Working at the intersection of education, performance and operational excellence, the Group Health & Fitness Education Manager will shape the future of fitness talent across the business.

Partnering closely with the Health & Fitness Director, you will define and deliver the vision for the Third Space Health & Fitness Academy, creating an industry-leading development experience that attracts, develops and retains exceptional Personal Trainers. From selecting best-in-class education partners and designing our trainer development pathways, to leading tutor delivery, quality assurance and Academy operations, you will ensure every trainer receives a world-class learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the future of fitness education at Third Space by leading our Health & Fitness Academy strategy
  • Develop exceptional personal trainers through world-class recruitment, onboarding, education pathways, mentoring and assessment
  • Own and evolve the Third Space Academy, delivering a premium learning experience through engaging workshops, CPD programmes, coaching development and innovative educational initiatives
  • Build industry-leading partnerships by collaborating with external education providers, suppliers and subject matter experts, while maintaining a strong network across the fitness industry
  • Drive quality and excellence through robust quality assurance, trainer observation, assessment standards and continuous improvement
  • Partner with leaders across the business to support trainer progression, academy operations, talent acquisition, and strategic projects that elevate fitness standards across all Third Space clubs.

What We're Looking For

  • Impactful and demonstrable experience leading fitness education, learning & development, or vocational training within the health & fitness industry
  • Qualified teacher, assessor, or equivalent qualification
  • A strong track record of designing and delivering impactful education programmes, certification pathways, workshops and development initiatives that improve performance and raise standards.
  • Deep expertise in personal training, strength & conditioning, fitness leadership or coach development, with the credibility to influence and inspire high-performing fitness professionals.
  • Proven ability to develop, mentor and assess coaches, providing meaningful feedback that accelerates growth and progression.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how education, capability and performance contribute to PT success, member experience and business growth.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, programmes and stakeholders while delivering a consistently premium experience.
  • A respected industry professional who remains connected to emerging trends, research, best practice and key industry networks.

Interview Process

Our process is designed to assess real educational capability. Consequently, the selection process focuses heavily on facilitation, coaching, stakeholder management and practical examples, rather than written application exercises.
