Group HR Business Partner – West Cornwall / Hybrid – £60,000
Well Placed HR are delighted to be working with a successful and growing Cornish business to recruit an experienced Group HR Business Partner.
With a workforce of more than 350 employees across several diverse and successful businesses, this is a broad and influential HR role with genuine exposure at senior leadership and Board level.
The business has grown at an extraordinary speed and shows no sign of slowing down. This appointment represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take the helm of an established HR function, lead and develop the existing HR team and take ownership of the Group's people agenda.
The Group HR Business Partner will work closely with Directors and senior leadership teams to shape and implement HR strategy, whilst remaining hands-on and visible across the organisation.
The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, with three days on-site and two days working remotely, alongside some travel between Group locations.
The business is headed up by an energetic and entrepreneurial senior leadership team, so this will be no ordinary HR appointment. This is an opportunity for an experienced Group HR Business Partner to influence people strategy, strengthen HR processes and make a genuine impact across a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the existing HR team
- Work with Directors and senior leaders to shape and deliver the Group HR strategy
- Provide expert HR advice on employee relations, employment law, workforce planning and HR best practice
- Lead complex disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with UK employment legislation
- Oversee recruitment, talent attraction and onboarding, working with managers to attract and retain high-quality employees
- Support learning and development, performance management and career progression
- Review and develop remuneration, benefits and employee engagement initiatives.
- Oversee HR systems, employee data and GDPR compliance.
- Champion equality, diversity, inclusion and positive workplace culture
- Provide a visible HR presence across the Group, including travel between sites when required
About You
The successful Group HR Business Partner will be an experienced senior HR professional with a strong generalist HR background and proven experience of leading and developing an HR team.
You will have strong knowledge of UK employment law, with hands-on experience across employee relations, recruitment, performance management, HR policy and wider people management. Experience of working with senior leaders, ideally at Board level, is highly desirable.

Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills are essential, together with the confidence to provide pragmatic HR advice and challenge where appropriate.
Applicants should ideally hold CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent, and have experience working within a larger, multi-site or fast-moving commercial environment. Experience using modern HR systems and HR technology would also be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Group HR Business Partner, Senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager looking for a broad, strategic and commercially focused role with genuine influence at senior level.
In addition to a £60,000 salary, the company offers a three-day on-site / two-day hybrid working arrangement, together with the opportunity to join a successful and growing Group where HR has genuine influence at senior level.
