Head of Group IT
Shape the Technology Future of a Global Manufacturing Group
An established international manufacturing and engineering group with operations across multiple continents is seeking an experienced Head of Group IT to lead technology strategy, transformation and operational excellence across the organisation. The business operates a portfolio of market-leading companies serving specialist industrial sectors worldwide.
This is a high-impact leadership offering the opportunity to influence business growth, modernise technology platforms and drive innovation across a diverse international group.
The Opportunity
As Head of Group IT, you will own the technology strategy and roadmap across the business, ensuring IT remains secure, resilient, commercially effective and aligned to long-term business objectives. You will work closely with senior leadership and managing directors across multiple operating companies to deliver transformational change and create competitive advantage through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the Group IT strategy, architecture and multi-year investment roadmap.
- Develop compelling business cases and ensure effective return on technology investments.
- Lead innovation initiatives and identify emerging technologies that drive growth and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement the organisation's AI strategy, including governance, risk controls and responsible adoption.
- Own cyber security, information governance and data protection across international operations.
- Lead IT service delivery and service management initiatives aligned to ITIL principles.
- Oversee business-critical ERP, manufacturing, commercial and finance systems.
- Drive infrastructure modernisation, cloud migration, business continuity and disaster recovery programmes.
- Manage strategic suppliers, software licensing, contracts and technology budgets.
- Build, develop and motivate a high-performing international IT team.
- Lead technology due diligence and post-acquisition integration activities.
- Report technology performance, risk and investment updates to the Board.

The Person
We're looking for a strategic technology leader who can operate comfortably at both board and operational levels.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership position within a multi-site, international organisation.
- A strong track record of delivering technology transformation and strategic change.
- Experience leading ERP implementation, migration or consolidation programmes.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure, cloud platforms (particularly Microsoft Azure), networking and cyber security.
- Board-level stakeholder management and presentation experience.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, project management and prioritisation skills.
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to technology investment.
- The ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Desirable Experience
- AI strategy, governance and implementation within a commercial environment.
- Cyber security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Mergers, acquisitions and integration projects.
- ITIL service management.
- SQL and Power BI reporting and analytics capabilities.
