What you will be doing:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are also developing a more modern, data-led approach to Internal Audit. Data analytics and AI-augmented ACL tools are increasingly being used to interrogate large datasets, identify trends, anomalies and control exceptions, and focus assurance activity on areas of heightened risk. You will be part of a team with an active agenda to use technology and data to make Internal Audit more targeted, insightful and risk-focused.
This maternity-cover opportunity offers significant senior stakeholder exposure, ownership of a defined geographical audit portfolio and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a forward-looking, data-led Internal Audit function within a listed pan-European Group.
What you will bring:
We are looking for an experienced Internal Audit Manager with strong risk-based audit experience, ideally gained within a listed, international or multi-site organisation. Experience of operational, branch or site auditing would be particularly relevant, alongside strong commercial awareness and the ability to build effective relationships, influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA or CMIIA is required, and fluency in French is essential. You will be comfortable working autonomously, with regular travel to branches and operational locations across France as a key requirement of the role. When not travelling, the role is primarily home-based, with occasional attendance at UK locations, including the Group Head Office, as required.
