Group IT Manager – Automotive / Multi-Site IT
£60,000–£70,000 + Company Car + Private Medical + Pension
Dartford, Kent | Multi-Site | Monday–Friday
We're recruiting a Group IT Manager for a long-established automotive retail business operating multiple main dealer locations across Kent and the surrounding area.
Supporting approximately 150 users across multiple sites, you'll become the principal internal IT specialist for the business, taking ownership of infrastructure, systems, cyber security, communications, suppliers and technology projects.
This is a broad, hands-on IT management role with genuine responsibility and direct exposure to senior leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the Group's day-to-day IT infrastructure and technology environment
- Manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra ID and user access
- Oversee networks, Wi-Fi, connectivity, telephony and communications
- Manage servers, PCs, laptops, mobile devices and IT assets
- Maintain cyber security, endpoint protection, patching, backups and disaster recovery
- Take ownership of critical IT incidents and service restoration
- Manage external IT, telecoms, software and cyber-security suppliers
- Oversee IT hardware, software and licensing
- Lead system migrations, infrastructure upgrades and other IT projects
- Review existing systems and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability
- Support IT budgets, supplier contracts and technology investment decisions
- Advise directors and managers on IT risks and future technology requirements
- Provide hands-on support across the Group's Kent locations when required

The business operates Keyloop within its dealership environment, so experience with Keyloop, Autoline, Drive or another Dealer Management System would be highly advantageous.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an IT Manager, Group IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, IT Operations Manager or similar
- Strong Microsoft 365 and Active Directory / Entra ID experience
- Good networking, Wi-Fi, connectivity and telephony knowledge
- Strong understanding of cyber security and endpoint management
- Experience supporting a multi-site organisation
- IT supplier and vendor-management experience
- Infrastructure and systems project experience
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Full UK driving licence

Automotive or motor dealership experience is advantageous but isn't essential. We're equally interested in strong IT Managers from other multi-site environments including retail, hospitality and other operational businesses.

This is a particularly good opportunity if you're looking for more ownership. Rather than joining a large IT department with a narrowly defined remit, you'll have visibility across the organisation and the ability to directly influence its technology strategy and day-to-day IT environment.
