We are now looking for an experienced Group Leader – Paint Operations to join our Manufacturing team at Gaydon and play a key role in leading Paint Shop performance.
As Group Leader, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Lead Technicians and Technicians within the Paint Shop, ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of production activities. You will create an environment where people can perform at their best, driving engagement, accountability and continuous improvement while maintaining Aston Martin's world-class standards.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics and Manufacturing leadership teams, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring production targets are achieved across safety, quality, cost and delivery measures. You will proactively manage resources, address production risks, support new model launches and engineering trials, and ensure operational challenges are resolved quickly and effectively to minimise business impact.
A key aspect of the role will be driving quality performance throughout the Paint Shop. You will lead investigations into paint, finish and process concerns, facilitate root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions. You will ensure compliance with all quality standards, operating procedures and audit requirements while supporting wider manufacturing and customer quality initiatives.

As a visible leader within the production environment, you will champion a strong health, safety and environmental culture. You will ensure compliance with company policies and legislation, support safe systems of work, drive COSHH compliance and lead investigations into any incidents or near misses. Promoting high housekeeping standards and workplace organisation will also form an important part of your leadership responsibilities.
Continuous improvement will be central to your role. You will utilise performance data and operational KPIs to identify opportunities for optimisation, reduce waste and improve efficiency. You will support the implementation of new technologies, equipment and automation solutions while driving Lean Manufacturing principles, equipment reliability and structured problem-solving across the department.
To be successful, you will bring proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally within automotive paint operations. You will have a strong understanding of production processes, experience managing teams against operational targets and a track record of delivering improvements in safety, quality and performance. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement methodologies and manufacturing management systems is highly desirable, alongside excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
