AFC Industries Company is part of a fast-growing, global supply chain services group distributing a wide range of engineering fastener components to manufacturing industries ranging from medical and electronics equipment to motorsports and aerospace applications.

We have a strong reputation for delivering high-performing inventory solutions, known as VMI or Kanban systems, to solve customer challenges to have the right products at the right time in their production cycle. We take all their sourcing, purchasing, stocking, and component management pain away to focus on making and selling products.

The Role & Reporting Manager

The successful candidate will report to the Group Logistics & Operations Manager, Michelle Cheeseman. This position will fill a vital role within AFC Logistics and Operations, and the role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities

  • Existing customer VMI health checks (audit) which will involve visiting customers, reporting the findings, and documenting improvement actions/recommendations.
  • Interacting with customers and internal AFC personnel on a daily basis (at all levels) by telephone and email – excellent communication skills required.
  • Being involved with new business installation and set-up processes/procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard (5S benchmark).
  • Support AFC warehouse operations to cover busy periods, sickness, and holidays throughout all Group locations.
  • Loading & unloading of goods from delivery vehicles.
  • Delivery & collection of stock from customers and suppliers.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety guidelines internally and customer expectations.
  • To assist in other areas within the Group as directed by the Group Logistics & Operations Manager, adopting a ‘One Team’ approach.
  • Must be an advanced user of Excel due to the high level of back-office work.

This logistics position is not a 8.30 – 17.00 role due to the nature of the projects.

  • Be able to travel to locations at short notice.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to achieve KPIs.
  • Forklift truck licence.
  • Trustworthy, enthusiastic, well-organized.
  • Able to work autonomously or part of a team.
  • Full Driving licence required. Maximum 6 penalty points.
