Job Description
Role includes but is not limited to production of all monthly balance sheet reconciliations, monthly management accounts preparation, and business partnering with the central departments and group businesses to ensure the listed tasks are dealt with efficiently, promptly, and proactively.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and proactively resolving any issues
- Support with P&L accuracy, including adjustments such as accruals, provisions, prepayments, and recharges
- Ownership of reallocation of consolidated invoices
- Analysis of various P&L costs across the Group – actuals vs budget and prior month/year – for review by Line Manager
- Business partnering with central departments
- Analysis on exceptional costs – for review by Line Manager
- Support with audit queries – liaising with colleagues across the business to gain backup for any queries
- Ensure the monthly group reporting procedures and deadlines are achieved
- Support in ad hoc financial projects as and when required
- Work closely with process owners to understand business processes and gain foundational finance knowledge
- Apply understanding of processes to identify process gaps and initiate process improvement
- Proactively seek feedback from team members to improve service delivery

Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA) or working towards a formal qualification.
- Prior experience in a similar role.
- Positive can-do attitude.
- Experience operating within an Industrial Services or multi-site environment advantageous but not essential.
- Microsoft Office applications experience, with excellent knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of Focal point and/or Access Dimensions would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent administration and office environment skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use initiative is essential and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Clean UK driving license.
