CHANGING LIVES THROUGH EMPOWERMENT AND ENABLEMENT
One relationship can create the right referral. One referral can change someone’s life. Pegasus Care is growing, and we are looking for an exceptional relationship-builder to take ownership of occupancy, referrals and commissioner partnerships across our group. This is a highly visible, hands-on role with genuine autonomy and accountability. We need someone who knows the adult social care landscape, understands how placements happen and has the energy and tenacity to make things move. Someone who picks up the phone. Someone who builds relationships that last. Someone who knows the difference between generating a referral and actually getting the right person into the right service.
What you’ll own
You will take ownership of the journey from: Vacancy → Relationship → Referral → Assessment → Costing → Decision → Admission
Working across our residential, nursing, complex-care and supported-living services, you will:
- Own and actively manage group occupancy and available capacity
- Develop strong relationships with commissioners, brokerage teams, social workers, discharge teams, ICBs and other referral partners
- Proactively generate appropriate referrals across our services
- Maintain a live, accurate and visible referral and vacancy pipeline
- Understand the needs, capabilities and admission criteria of every Pegasus service
- Coordinate timely assessments with our operational teams
- Drive costings, funding proposals and placement decisions through to conclusion
- Identify and remove barriers that delay appropriate admissions
- Follow up every viable opportunity with pace and persistence
- Analyse lost referrals and identify opportunities to improve conversion
- Build intelligence around local demand, commissioning priorities and emerging gaps in provision
- Support the mobilisation and occupancy of new and acquired services
- Provide clear weekly reporting on occupancy, vacancies, referrals, assessments, conversions and admissions
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who are we looking for?
You may already work in provider partnerships, referrals, commissioning, brokerage, care-sector business development or another role where you have built strong relationships across adult social care. More important than your current job title is how you operate. You are:
- Relentlessly proactive and comfortable picking up the phone
- Credible with commissioners and frontline professionals alike
- Commercially aware and comfortable working to clear KPIs
- Highly organised and obsessive about follow-through
- Able to understand complex care needs and match them appropriately to services
- Confident analysing referral, occupancy and market data
- Able to build new relationships quickly while strengthening existing ones
- Comfortable challenging delays and bringing people together to reach decisions
- Motivated by outcomes rather than activity
- Willing to travel across the Midlands, North East and other Pegasus locations as required

The important bit
We will never fill a vacancy simply for the sake of occupancy. Every admission must be right for the individual and right for the service, with the appropriate environment, staffing, competencies and support in place. Commercial success and quality care are not competing priorities. For us, sustainable occupancy comes from getting that match right. At Pegasus, an available place represents more than an empty bed or room. It represents the opportunity to give someone the right home, the right support and the opportunity to live the life they choose. If you are energetic, credible, commercially minded and exceptional at turning relationships into action, we would love to hear from you.
