The role
What will you be doing?
Purpose: To provide a customer service experience within a Centre of Excellence that supports the market leading proposition of the Group Policy Servicing teams. Ensure all aspects of policy administration are completed within agreed timescales and of the highest quality.
What will you bring?
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain accurate scheme records to ensure that the information used to deal with customer queries is correct and the data held on our systems is accurate and conforms to company requirements.
- Set-up, assess risk, price and issue quotes, with consideration for profitability and persistency targets, and adverse risk. Referring quotes in line with the procedures to the Financial Underwriting team in a timely manner.
- Prepare and issue policy accounts to meet customer expectations and quality agreements.
- Follow agreed procedures to obtain and maintain proficiency across quality levels including maintaining quality licence, to meet service expectations and compliance targets.
- Collaborate with colleagues throughout the business to ensure we continue to provide the best customer experience to our customers through efficient work practices.
- Take responsibility for own development utilising the career path and T&C framework to improve own performance, engaging with the Performance Experience process & ensure your agreed Personal Development Plan is managed.
- Active participation in continuous improvement process including process improvement, innovation and customer experience initiatives.
- Ensure personal compliance with all regulatory requirements including Health & Safety, Data Protection.
- Understand how Conduct Risk, Treating Customers Fairly, Consumer Duty, Risk Management and Solvency II Systems of Governance relate to both the role and the divisional activities and highlight any opportunities for improvement.
- Comply with Unum’s Code of Conduct and other Company Policies and Procedures as appropriate.
- Live the Unum Leadership Expectations and values.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
- 5 GCSE passes including Grade C or above for Maths and English or equivalent experience.
- Good communication skills and experience working as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organised.
- Strong attention to detail, interpreting information and make appropriate recommendations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications for example Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge of the Group Risk marketplace and Group products, is desirable.
