We're looking for a qualified Group Reporting Accountant to join a growing finance team within the insurance sector. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting, supporting complex consolidations across multiple legal entities, and ensuring compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements. Working closely with senior finance leaders, regional finance teams and external auditors, you'll play a key role in the month-end and quarter-end reporting cycle while driving process improvements and supporting finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly group reporting packs, including management, regulatory and financial reporting.
  • Take ownership of the consolidation process for designated group entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Produce high-quality financial reports in line with IFRS, UK GAAP and other applicable reporting standards.
  • Analyse consolidated financial results, investigate variances and provide meaningful commentary to stakeholders.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with finance teams across the business.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
  • Act as a key contact for external auditors, providing information and supporting the year-end audit process.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the finance team where required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiencies.
  • Contribute to finance transformation projects, system enhancements and wider process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, data protection obligations and governance standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
