About the Role

A leading international specialty reinsurance business based in London is seeking a Group Reporting Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Reporting, you will oversee the global financial consolidation process and lead the preparation of external financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Consolidation

  • Oversee quarterly close schedules and manage the year-end and half-year GAAP financial reporting timelines.
  • Drive the multi-entity inter-company reporting and global consolidation process.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements, annual reports, disclosures, and regulatory submissions under IFRS.
  • Produce key inputs and variance analysis for executive packs, board meetings, audit committees, and investor disclosures.

Systems & Data Integrity

  • Maintain general ledger integrity, mapping rules, and system logic.
  • Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) and administrator for financial reporting software platforms (e.g., Workiva/WDesk).

Audit & Compliance Management

  • Coordinate external audit activities for annual and half-year reviews.
  • Conduct the annual audit effectiveness review and present recommendations to leadership.

Process Improvement & Technical Accounting

  • Research updates to IFRS standards and draft technical accounting memos.
  • Collaborate on finance transformation initiatives to optimize reporting workflows and strengthen internal controls.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Professional Qualification

  • ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA, or equivalent accounting qualification.

Industry Experience

  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) within the insurance or reinsurance sector.

Technical Expertise

  • Proven track record in IFRS consolidated reporting, regulatory reporting for global entities, and managing multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction environments.

Systems Skills

  • Experience with enterprise general ledgers (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains) and modern reporting engines (e.g., WDesk/Workiva, iXBRL tools) is preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical capabilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
