Group Reporting Manager | 18-Month FTC | £100,000
I'm working with a life and pensions group on the appointment of a Group Reporting Manager, on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
This is a high-visibility role at the heart of the group's financial and regulatory reporting. You'll own the consolidation, lead a team of 3, and be a trusted partner to senior finance leadership through a busy period for the business.
The role
- Own the group consolidation and the production of the group financial statements
- Lead and develop a team of 3, setting priorities and raising the quality bar
- Drive month-end, quarter-end and year-end close to a tight, well-controlled timetable
- Support Solvency II reporting and the interaction between the IFRS 17 and regulatory numbers
- Partner with actuarial, risk, tax and the wider finance team to deliver clear, accurate outputs
- Support external audit and review technical accounting positions
- Look for ways to streamline and improve the consolidation process

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
