Core3 is delighted to be working with a high-growth international organisation in Newport to recruit a Group Tax Manager.
This is a broad in-house tax role with real ownership. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll become the internal lead for tax across the group, taking responsibility for UK corporate tax while also gaining exposure across international compliance, VAT, transfer pricing, employment taxes and wider tax governance.
Why join our client
This is an opportunity to step into a role where you can genuinely shape how tax is managed across the business.
The organisation is looking to bring more tax expertise in-house, reduce reliance on external advisers and build stronger internal processes as it continues to grow. You'll have the autonomy to improve controls, strengthen reporting and create a more efficient approach to tax across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
There's also a major finance systems transformation underway, giving you the chance to influence how tax requirements, controls and reporting are built into the future finance environment.
How you'll make an impact
- Take ownership of UK corporate tax compliance and reporting across the group
- Lead quarterly tax reporting, provisions and cash tax forecasting
- Bring more tax activity in-house and reduce reliance on third-party advisers
- Oversee VAT, employment taxes and other indirect tax requirements
- Manage transfer pricing, withholding tax and tax-sensitive intercompany activity
- Coordinate international tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Strengthen tax governance, policies, controls and risk management
- Maintain accurate tax balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
- Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure the correct tax treatment of business activity
- Act as the key contact for auditors, tax authorities and external advisers
- Define tax requirements for a new finance system and support implementation activity
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve tax processes and reporting

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
