Duties and responsibilities related to the Group & Events Manager
Reporting to the Director of Sales and managing a small team, you will lead the Group & Events sales function, driving revenue and delivering exceptional service across meetings, events and group business.
You will be responsible for:
- Manage and convert incoming group and event enquiries, maximising revenue opportunities and guest satisfaction.
- Build strong client relationships to drive repeat business and achieve conversion and sales targets.
- Prepare proposals, contracts and event details, ensuring a seamless customer journey from enquiry to handover.
- Use Envision to manage bookings, reporting and sales activity accurately.
- Support forecasting, budgeting and commercial planning for the Meetings & Events business.
- Monitor performance metrics, including response times and conversion rates, to identify opportunities and improve results.
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure successful event delivery and an outstanding guest experience.
- Lead, coach and develop your team, creating a positive, high-performing sales culture.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Hyatt, delivering service that reflects our purpose of care.

About You
You will have experience in Groups & Events, Meetings & Events, or reactive hotel sales within a hospitality environment. Commercially minded and target-driven, you will be confident converting enquiries into confirmed business while delivering excellent customer service.
You will also bring:
- Experience in hotel Groups & Events or Meetings & Events sales.
- Strong knowledge of the enquiry-to-event journey, from proposal to handover.
- Experience using hotel sales systems; Envision experience is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness, including forecasting, conversion and target achievement.
- Experience leading or developing a small team.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, organised and customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in conversational English to communicate effectively with guests, clients and colleagues.
