Groups & Events Planning Manager

Are you passionate about creating unforgettable events, building strong client relationships and delivering exceptional experiences in a luxury 5-star environment? If you’re organised, commercially driven and thrive on turning every detail into a memorable experience, we’d love to hear from you!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Groups & Events Planning Manager to join our Groups and Events team. Working closely with our Operations, Sales and other hotel departments, you will ensure the seamless delivery of events and contribute to maintaining Shangri-La The Shard's reputation as a premier luxury events destination.

You will also be responsible for identifying upselling opportunities, optimising event profitability and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction throughout the entire event journey.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to different working conditions and changing event requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and internal teams.
  • Computer knowledge and experience working with hotel systems and event management platforms.
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest and client experiences.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
