Groupwork Practitioner
Role: Groupwork Practitioner
Location: Birmingham wide / Hybrid working
Hours: Part-time – 20 hours per week
Salary: £13,526.93 per annum pro rata (20 hours per week) / £25,363 full-time equivalent (37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Fixed term for 12 months initially, subject to funding
Benefits: Flexible and family-friendly working, 36 days’ leave pro rata (including bank/public holidays), up to 5% matched pension contribution, opportunity to unpaid leave, enhanced occupational sick pay and family leave, ongoing training, and support
Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
What will the role involve?
The Groupwork Practitioner will play an important role in creating safe, welcoming and supportive spaces where people affected by perinatal mental health difficulties can feel heard, understood and able to connect with others. Working alongside our volunteers, practitioners and Senior Operations Managers, the postholder will help deliver compassionate, inclusive and person-centred groupwork that responds to the individual needs and experiences of the families we support.

This is a community-based role requiring regular travel across Birmingham to facilitate groups, currently including Wednesdays in Northfield and Thursdays in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield. There will also be occasional attendance at Acacia’s Sutton Coldfield head office for meetings. Some occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet service needs.
