Growth Director, Membership & Partnerships
£80,000 base, £100,000 OTE | Full-time | Hybrid, London
Would you like to spend your time with the CMOs and senior marketers behind some of the world’s leading brands, and turn those relationships into growth for the community that exists to support them? The Marketing Society is looking for a Growth Director to lead new membership and partnership growth across England.
This is a visible, hands-on commercial role. Reporting to our Chief Commercial Officer, you will own new business from the first conversation through to signed commitment, spending a good share of your time out in the market meeting people, opening doors and following through. We offer autonomy, trust and flexibility, alongside clear accountability for results.
We are a mission-driven, not-for-profit organisation, and commercial success is what allows us to expand our impact.
Location
Remote and flexible working, within easy travelling distance of central London for team meetings, Member events and industry engagements.
Your focus
- Around 80% of your time will go on membership and partnership growth
- 10% on representing the Society
- 10% on helping develop our future opportunities
Deliver commercial growth
- Deliver agreed targets for new Members, new Partners and the income they generate in England
- Build a qualified pipeline through your network, proactive outreach, referrals and industry engagement
- Understand each prospect’s ambitions and shape a clear proposal that shows the value of working with us
- Lead opportunities from first conversation to agreement, working with membership and partnership colleagues on proposals and negotiations, with a smooth handover into delivery
- Spot wider opportunities across professional development, Awards and events, and bring in the right teams
- Keep pipeline records and forecasts accurate, and review progress regularly with the Chief Commercial Officer

Represent the Society
- Build relationships with CMOs, senior marketers, agency leaders and other commercial decision-makers
- Represent the Society at industry gatherings and host selected events, webinars and podcasts
Help shape our future
- Bring insight from prospects, Members and Partners back into the organisation to strengthen our propositions and spot new opportunities
- Use AI and technology thoughtfully to support research, outreach and follow-up, while keeping the personal relationships our community depends on
What you will bring
- A track record of winning new business and delivering commercial targets through strong relationships
- Credibility with senior decision-makers and the curiosity to understand their priorities before proposing a solution
- The ability to open doors, develop proposals, negotiate and secure commitments
- An understanding of the marketing industry and the ability to build a relevant network
- Commercial discipline, with organised pipeline management, realistic forecasting and timely follow-up
- Confidence representing an organisation, hosting conversations and speaking to a room

Success is measured mainly by the new Members and Partners you secure, and the income they bring, against agreed targets in England. We will also look at the strength of your pipeline and the quality of the relationships you build.
