Head of Growth / Growth Director / Growth Marketing Director

Early-stage AI SaaS | B2B startup | London | £90,000–£120,000 + significant equity

Before applying, please read this carefully

This role is specifically for someone with direct growth experience in a fast-growth B2B startup or scale-up.

The client is looking for someone who has helped scale a B2B software company, ideally from an early commercial stage, and can show clear evidence of building demand, pipeline, demos, opportunities, or revenue.

You should have:

  • Experience in a B2B SaaS / B2B software / fast-growth startup environment
  • A track record of scaling growth, not just running campaigns
  • Strong experience across demand generation, GTM, positioning, messaging, and pipeline generation
  • A strong academic background, ideally from a leading university
  • The ability to be highly hands-on in an early-stage business

This is not a pure content, social media, brand, PR, sales, partnerships, agency performance marketing, or corporate marketing role. It is also not a CMO-level leadership role managing large teams. The ideal candidate is a high-calibre, hands-on growth operator who has already helped a strong B2B startup grow.

The company:

We are working with an early-stage AI software business building automation technology for a large, traditional B2B market.

The company is developing AI-enabled software that helps service-led organizations automate operational workflows, improve responsiveness, and reduce manual workload. The business is already working with early customers, has a strong founding team, significant investor backing, and ambitious plans to scale.

This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage, own the growth function, and build the commercial growth engine from the ground up.

The role is based in London, with 4 days per week in the office.

Candidates must be based in the UK and have full right to work without sponsorship.

The role:

The Growth Marketing Lead / Senior Growth Marketing Manager / B2B SaaS Growth Lead will be the founding growth hire.

You will work closely with the founders and sales team to define the company’s positioning, build demand, generate qualified demos, and create a repeatable growth engine.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Demand generation
  • Growth strategy
  • Positioning and messaging
  • Go-to-market planning
  • Product marketing
  • Founder-led growth
  • Paid and organic channels
  • Landing pages and campaign assets
  • Events and conferences
  • Funnel reporting
  • Pipeline generation
  • Sales enablement

The core outcome is simple: build a reliable engine for qualified pipeline in a B2B software market.

Responsibilities:

The Growth Marketing Lead / Senior Growth Marketing Manager / B2B SaaS Growth Lead will:

  • Define and refine the positioning, messaging, and narrative for a sceptical, time-poor B2B buyer
  • Build the demand generation engine from the ground up across paid, organic, outbound-supporting marketing, events, content, and founder-led channels
  • Own the funnel from first touch through to qualified demo, sales handover, and pipeline tracking
  • Identify the best ICPs, buyer personas, channels, and messaging to drive commercial traction
  • Speak directly with customers, join sales calls, and turn customer insight into sharper campaigns and positioning
  • Create and test campaigns that generate demand in a market where buyers are cautious about overhyped AI products
  • Develop landing pages, email campaigns, sales collateral, product messaging, content, and campaign assets
  • Work closely with the founders on founder-led growth, thought leadership, category education, and market narrative
  • Support event and conference activity, from messaging and promotion through to follow-up and pipeline tracking
  • Measure channel performance, conversion rates, qualified demos, pipeline, and revenue impact
  • Test, optimise, and scale paid campaigns, ABM activity, email, content, events, and other growth channels
  • Work closely with sales and customer success to improve conversion, handover quality, and feedback loops
  • Use AI tools, LLMs, and automation to improve marketing execution, workflow efficiency, and campaign quality
  • Build the early growth playbook and help shape the future growth team once the motion is working

Candidates must have:

  • Direct experience in growth marketing, demand generation, or GTM within a B2B SaaS, B2B software, or fast-growth startup environment
  • Evidence of helping scale a B2B company through pipeline, demos, opportunities, ARR, revenue, or measurable commercial growth
  • Experience building growth from a low or early-stage base, rather than only optimising a mature marketing machine
  • Strong understanding of how positioning, messaging, and customer insight translate into pipeline and revenue
  • Hands-on experience across multiple growth channels, such as paid social, paid search, ABM, email, landing pages, events, content, founder-led growth, or lifecycle campaigns
  • Experience working closely with founders, sales teams, customer success, and/or product teams
  • Strong commercial judgement and a clear understanding of how marketing supports sales outcomes
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to make complex products feel simple and compelling
  • A high-agency, self-directed approach suited to an early-stage startup environment
  • A genuine interest in AI, with hands-on use of LLMs, AI tools, workflow automation, agents, Custom GPTs, or similar tools
  • A strong academic background, ideally from a leading university or equivalent institution
