About the Role
We are looking for a Growth Lead, Flywheel UK (Business Director level) to join Omnicom Media Group in a senior leadership role focused on driving growth for the UK retail media and connected commerce business.
This role will lead demand generation across onsite, offsite and in-store retail media, working closely with OMG agencies, client leads and specialist teams to identify, shape and convert new opportunities. The successful candidate will be commercially minded, deeply experienced in retail media and commerce, and confident operating with senior clients, agency leadership and retailer stakeholders.
The role will be responsible for building a strong business pipeline, developing strategic retail media propositions, supporting major client opportunities, and ensuring Flywheel is positioned as a leading commerce and retail media partner across OMG UK.
Responsibilities
Lead Retail Media Growth & Demand Generation
- Own and accelerate the UK retail media growth pipeline across OMG agencies and clients.
- Identify demand generation opportunities across onsite retail media, offsite retail media, in-store media, shopper marketing, commerce media and connected commerce strategy.
- Work with agency leadership teams to audit client portfolios and identify priority opportunities for retail media and commerce growth.
- Build senior-level relationships with agency client leads, planning teams and commercial stakeholders to embed Flywheel earlier in client conversations.
- Develop compelling client narratives and pitch materials that translate retail media complexity into clear business value.
- Drive proactive outreach, client education and strategic workshops to unlock new scopes of work.
Lead Senior Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a senior retail media and commerce advisor to clients across key categories, including FMCG, retail, consumer electronics, health, beauty, petcare and other priority verticals.
- Understand client business objectives, commercial pressures, retail relationships and shopper challenges to shape relevant solutions.
- Lead senior client conversations around retail media maturity, investment planning, measurement, incrementality, data strategy and full-funnel commerce activation.
- Partner with agency Managing Partners, Client Leads and Strategy Leads to integrate retail media into wider media and business planning.
- Build trusted relationships with key retail media networks, technology partners and commerce platforms.

Commercial Leadership & Pipeline Management
- Own and manage a clear retail media and commerce pipeline, from opportunity identification through to proposal, pitch, conversion and handover.
- Work with finance and leadership teams to forecast revenue, track opportunities and monitor business performance.
- Ensure opportunities are commercially viable, properly resourced and aligned with Flywheel’s operating model.
- Support annual growth planning and contribute to the wider Flywheel UK commercial strategy.
Support Agency Adoption & Education
- Work closely with OMD, PHD, MG OMD, Hearts & Science and wider OMG teams to increase understanding and adoption of Flywheel services.
- Lead internal education sessions, client opportunity reviews and retail media planning workshops.
- Help agency teams understand when and how to bring Flywheel into client conversations.
- Foster a proactive commercial culture that encourages collaboration, knowledge sharing and growth.
Contribute to Flywheel UK Leadership
- Play a key role in the senior leadership team of Flywheel UK.
- Support team culture, commercial momentum and overall business direction.
- Mentor and guide team members where required, helping develop retail media and commerce capability across the group.
- Represent Flywheel internally and externally as a credible senior voice in retail media and connected commerce.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience in retail media, commerce media, digital media, ecommerce, shopper marketing or commercial partnerships.
- Proven track record of driving commercial growth, demand generation and new business pipeline in a senior agency, platform, retailer, consultancy or media owner environment.
- Strong understanding of the retail media ecosystem, including onsite, offsite and in-store channels.
- Ability to engage senior clients and translate complex retail media topics into clear commercial opportunities.
- Experience developing proposals, leading pitches and converting new scopes of work.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple agencies, clients and internal teams.
- Commercially sharp, with experience managing pipeline, revenue forecasts and business growth targets.
- Excellent presentation, communication and storytelling skills.
- Highly collaborative, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-moving specialist business.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery and commercial follow-through.
