Public Sector Growth Lead
A fast-growing technology business is transforming how public sector organisations discover, evaluate and work with suppliers. With an established footprint across UK public services, they’re now looking for a commercially driven Public Sector Growth Lead to own the next stage of growth and build a high-performing sales function.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the public sector revenue target and develop the go-to-market strategy to deliver against it.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline across Local Government, NHS organisations, Higher Education, Academy Trusts, Central Government and wider public bodies.
- Lead the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and initial conversations through to procurement, negotiation and signed contracts.
- Develop strategic accounts alongside the CEO, including larger enterprise-level opportunities worth £250k+ annually.
- Decide how different public sector markets should be prioritised and turn customer insight into clear target accounts and campaigns.
- Navigate frameworks, Dynamic Markets, tenders, direct awards and other public sector routes to market.
- Own framework strategy, including identifying opportunities, coordinating submissions and maximising commercial activity once routes to market are secured.
- Build trusted relationships with procurement leaders, commercial directors, senior decision-makers and budget holders.
- Develop partnerships and sector relationships that strengthen market presence and create scalable routes to new customers.
- Increase brand visibility through events, roundtables, industry networks and thought leadership around public procurement.
- Establish the sales processes, forecasting, KPIs, reporting and commercial disciplines needed to support growth.
- Build and develop the sales team as the business scales, including future hiring, coaching and target setting.
- Partner closely with Product, Customer Success, Research, Operations, Technical and Bid teams to strengthen the proposition and customer experience.
- Feed market intelligence back into the wider business to influence positioning, product priorities and future commercial strategy.
- Support a smooth handover of new customers into onboarding and Customer Success.

Main Skills Needed
- Significant experience selling solutions into the UK public sector, with a strong understanding of how public organisations actually buy.
- Direct commercial experience within areas such as Local Government, NHS, Higher Education, Academy Trusts or Central Government.
- Strong knowledge of public procurement routes, including frameworks, Dynamic Markets/DPS, competitive tenders and direct award mechanisms.
- A proven track record of owning and delivering meaningful revenue targets within consultative or solution-led sales.
- Confidence operating as both a hands-on individual contributor and a strategic commercial leader.
- Experience building or scaling a sales function, including processes, forecasting, KPIs, hiring and team development.
- Established relationships or strong credibility with senior public sector procurement, commercial and budget-holding stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex, longer-cycle sales involving multiple stakeholders and risk-conscious buyers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to high-quality bid and tender submissions.
- Commercial judgement combined with excellent organisation and the ability to deliver against demanding deadlines.
- A genuine interest in improving public sector procurement and making markets more accessible for both buyers and suppliers.
- Comfortable working within a small, ambitious team where responsibilities can extend beyond a traditional sales remit.
