Join Our Team

Create Engage is a growth partner for ambitious boutique consultancies. We are not a traditional marketing agency. We are an outsourced marketing team, embedded in our clients' businesses, building the marketing and pipeline structures that drive their commercial growth.

We do this through our Growth Operating System (Growth OS), a joined-up framework across Growth Strategy, Demand Engine, Pipeline Management and Success Infrastructure that turns marketing into predictable, measurable momentum for our clients.

We are a small and growing team, supported by a specialist part-time and freelance creative bench. We are at £1m revenue with a goal to reach £5m by 2030, and this role is central to getting there.

Role

This role leads a pod of three people looking after up to six clients. Those clients are founder-led and owner-managed consultancies, typically businesses of 20 to 200 people. You hold the senior relationship on all six, you set the marketing direction across them, you build the capability of your team, and you own both the quality of the work your pod produces and the commercial impact of your pod for the agency. You report to a Client Partner.

It is a leadership role and a marketing role at the same time. You will be shaping strategy across six clients, pushing the work on campaigns and content, and raising the standard of the thinking rather than approving what you are handed. A real passion for growth, marketing and content is not optional here.

This is a role that sets the standard, thinks ahead and leads the charge, rather than one that waits to be told and delivers to a brief. It is also a management role, so the people in your pod own the relationships for two to three clients each and drive the day-to-day marketing while you sit above that: supporting, coaching and guiding them, joining the conversations that matter, getting hands-on with them for the Quarterly Marketing Reviews, and bringing your own expertise to the work so it lands as well as it possibly can. Objectives, one-to-ones, reviews and performance conversations all sit with you.

Because we are a small business, the role also reaches beyond your own pod. You will sit in our leadership team meetings and our quarterly strategy sessions, own quarterly company priorities where your capacity allows, and have a genuine hand in shaping what Create Engage becomes rather than inheriting somebody else's finished machine.

Responsibilities

  • Own the senior relationship on all six clients. Join the conversations that matter, and always know what is really going on without being in the weeds of the day to day.
  • Set the marketing direction across your six clients. Shape the strategy, push the work on campaigns and content, and raise the standard rather than approving what you are handed.
  • Build your team. Train them, direct them, review their work and tell them the truth about it, and give them more room as they show you they are ready for it.
  • Help your team be the best they can be, and deliver to the standard we set. Clear feedback, given directly, verbally first and in writing when it needs to stick, so everyone always knows where they stand.
  • Raise the standard of the work. Bring your expertise to what your pod produces so it is as good as it can be, and build the habits that mean quality is right before anything reaches a client.
  • Own the commercials of your pod. Gross margin, scope discipline, over-servicing, and properly evidenced growth within your clients.
  • Run the rhythm, inside and out. The Growth OS operating rhythm on all six clients, and our internal structures too: weekly huddles and pod rhythms, run on time, every week.
  • Help fill your pod. Join sales meetings for prospects who would sit with you, and work with your Client Partner and the Director to judge when the time is right to hire, then screen and interview the people who would join you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements

  • Agency-side background, ideally B2B or professional services. You are an Account Director or equivalent currently, with a minimum of 6 years' experience overall and at least half of that in agency roles like this one.
  • A genuine passion for growth, marketing and content. You are interested in what makes a campaign land and why one piece of content works when another does not, and you are still learning about all of it.
  • Comfortable holding the confidence of a founder or CEO across the full relationship, and taking the difficult client conversation on yourself. Our industry is largely male-dominated, and our client base reflects that. Most of your senior stakeholders will be men, though not all, and you will be working directly with them, rather than working with a client-side marketing stakeholder at the same level as you.
  • Runs structures like clockwork. Weekly huddles, review slots, pod rhythms and the Growth OS cadence on every client, run on time, every time. Of everything on this list, this is the clearest dividing line we have seen between the people who thrive here and the ones who do not.
  • Treat process hygiene as part of the job rather than as admin. Project boards current, files where they belong, notes written up, actions captured and chased.
  • Direct rather than delegating and hoping. You train people properly and then keep inspecting what you expect. Setting a standard and checking the work against it is not micromanagement, it is the job.
  • Challenge openly, then commits. We want your view argued properly in the room, and your commitment once a decision is made.
  • Wants to be a leader in a small business rather than a middle manager in a large one. You want to help run and grow a company, not just run more clients with some help.
  • Comfortable and capable with commercials. You know your numbers, take ownership of margin as well as delivery, and hold firm on scope rather than letting it quietly slip.

  • Your pod reaches its full capacity of six clients and stays there, with growth found within those clients where the opportunity is real.
  • Everyone in your pod has current objectives, a regular one-to-one and a documented review, and capability gaps are named early rather than tolerated.

  • We Win As One. We show up for each other without waiting to be asked, and we love making each other better by sharing what we know.
