Growth Marketing Lead
London / Hybrid (3 days in the office with 2 from home)
Circa £45,000–£55,000
Are you a commercially minded marketer who wants to own growth, rather than simply manage one part of the marketing mix?
We’re working with an ambitious and highly respected non-profit media organisation with a global audience, looking for a Marketing & Growth Lead to take ownership of its marketing output and help drive its next stage of growth.
This is an opportunity for someone with around 4–5 years' marketing experience who has developed a broad skill set across digital marketing, content, campaigns, audience growth and analytics – and is now ready to take significantly more strategic ownership.
The opportunity
You'll be joining an established and internationally recognised organisation with a substantial global audience and a strong reputation within its field. It's a genuinely interesting environment for a marketer: intellectually ambitious, audience-focused and with significant scope to experiment with new ways of growing its reach.
You’ll sit at the heart of the organisation’s marketing activity, overseeing a small team of specialists across areas including PR, paid campaigns, social media, web analytics and digital marketing.
You don't need to be the specialist in every discipline. Instead, you'll bring the strategic thinking, commercial focus and creative direction to make sure the different parts of marketing work together to deliver growth.
You'll use data to understand what's working, identify opportunities and continually improve performance, with a particular focus on growing and engaging audiences, increasing conversion and subscribers and strengthening retention.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Developing and delivering an integrated marketing strategy focused on audience growth and engagement
- Overseeing digital, content, social, PR, paid campaigns and website activity

What we're looking for
This is not a role for someone who has spent their career specialising in one narrow area of marketing.
We're looking for a broad, curious and commercially minded marketer who understands how the different pieces fit together and is excited by the opportunity to take ownership. You are likely to have around 4–5 years' marketing experience, ideally gained within a related environment such as:
- Online publishing
- Media
- Events
- Educational publishing
- News
- Membership
- Digital content
- Cultural organisations
You don't need to have worked in the non-profit sector. We're particularly interested in people who have worked in audience-led environments where growth, engagement and conversion really matter.

You'll need:
- A 2:1 degree or above from a top UK university – essential
- A demonstrable track record of driving measurable growth in a previous role

- A broad understanding of digital marketing, content, social, campaigns and audience development
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform marketing decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ideally, around 12 months' experience of managing or mentoring others
- A genuine appetite to learn, experiment and find new ways to accelerate growth
This could be a great fit if...
You're currently a Senior Marketing Executive, Marketing Manager, Growth Manager or similar, and you're starting to feel that you're capable of owning more.
Perhaps you're in a larger organisation where your remit has become quite narrow. Or you're working in publishing, media, events or education and want the opportunity to have a much greater influence over the overall marketing strategy.
You're analytical but creative. You can look at the numbers and understand what they're telling you, but you can also write compelling copy and understand what will resonate with an audience.
You want responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work. You want to test ideas, challenge what's been done before and ultimately be able to say: "I grew that."
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
