Role Overview

The Growth Marketing Manager is responsible for generating qualified demand and acquiring customers across our clients webstores and marketplace activity. The role turns search, audience and channel opportunities into practical plans, tests and measurable commercial improvements. The role owns acquisition planning, paid-media agency performance, delegated budget recommendations, SEO and acquisition content. It also delivers the companies own marketing activity, including website and social content, case studies, thought-leadership content and agreed sales-support materials. This is an active delivery role: identify the opportunity, size it, produce or coordinate the work, challenge performance and follow through on results. Customer CRM strategy, lifecycle campaigns, automation and retention sit with Trading Marketing. The Head of Marketing retains overall strategy, brand ownership, budget and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Acquisition Strategy & Opportunity Development

  • Build cross-market acquisition plans for webstores and marketplaces, aligned with agreed Sales, Category, Pricing and client priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to reach relevant customers and improve qualified traffic, search visibility and first-purchase performance.
  • Size opportunities using available demand, spend, traffic, conversion and product data; explain assumptions, likely value, effort and delivery dependencies.
  • Turn the Head of Marketing's priorities into specific actions and tests, progressing work independently and recommending what should be continued, changed or stopped.

Paid Media, Budget Recommendations & Agency Performance

  • Own day-to-day paid-media agency briefs, performance reviews and action follow-up across the agreed channels and markets.
  • Recommend increases, reductions, pauses or reallocations of delegated spend using customer acquisition, return, contribution, stock and commercial evidence; obtain approvals within the agreed budget framework.
  • Review pacing, traffic quality, conversion and new-customer performance alongside ROAS; challenge unsupported claims and distinguish attribution from incremental demand.
  • Manage the acquisition work through delivery, including briefs and acquisition assets, rather than passing all production to Trading. Coordinate shared onsite changes through the agreed plan.

SEO, Acquisition Content & Launch Support

  • Own the SEO and acquisition-content roadmap, prioritising search demand, commercially relevant categories and evidence of visibility or conversion gaps.
  • Create or coordinate acquisition copy and content briefs for priority pages, campaigns and launches, using approved product facts and brand standards.
  • Work with Category on product information, Trading on shared onsite placement and localisation, and Tech/CRO on technical SEO and development requirements.
  • Review organic visibility, qualified traffic and commercial results. Target work with a clear benefit rather than content volume or broad catalogue rewriting.

Marketing & Sales Support

  • Deliver agreed company-marketing plan under the Head of Marketing's strategy, brand standards and approval process.
  • Personally create and publish agreed website and social content, case studies and thought-leadership material, using approved facts, claims and client permissions.
  • Produce clear capability presentations and sales-support content with Sales; support approved company campaigns and events through content, communications and follow-up materials.
  • Maintain a prioritised delivery calendar and track relevant enquiries, content use and agreed engagement measures. Escalate competing corporate and client-acquisition demands before delivery is affected.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Acquisition Testing, Measurement & Optimisation

  • Own acquisition tests across audiences, paid media, search content and acquisition messaging; define the hypothesis, baseline, success criteria and next decision.
  • Work with Analytics to validate tracking and reporting, identify attribution limitations and avoid counting the same sale across several initiatives.
  • Review test results with commercial context and recommend whether to scale, amend or stop; do not present a modelled opportunity as a guaranteed result.
  • Share acquisition and first-purchase insights with Trading. Trading owns customer CRM segmentation, campaign sends, lifecycle automation and retention tests.

Client Communication & Cross-functional Working

  • Explain acquisition performance, recommendations and expected benefits clearly to Sales, clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Work with Trading so acquisition activity arrives at accurate, relevant and available offers; agree shared launch and landing-page dependencies.
  • Use market feedback and Category/Pricing input to refine acquisition plans while respecting their product, commercial and relationship accountabilities.
  • Provide clear briefs to Tech/CRO and Analytics, and escalate technical or measurement issues to the appropriate owner rather than taking over system administration.

Initiative, Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a clear work plan, anticipate dependencies and complete agreed actions without repeated direction from senior leadership.
  • Curious and proactive in exploring how AI can improve ways of working, with a willingness to adopt new tools that reduce repetitive manual tasks and create more time for higher value work.
  • Challenge established practices constructively, explain the benefit of change and take agreed improvements through implementation and review.
  • Keep briefs, test records, learning and handovers clear and reusable; apply feedback and improve how work is delivered.
  • Balance acquisition and marketing work within agreed capacity and approvals, raising trade-offs with options rather than accepting every request.
