About the Role

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will build the demand engine that turns Supercritical's target account list into engaged buyers, and you will build it with AI rather than with headcount. Your job is to figure out how to combine creativity, systems thinking, AI, and a handful of Sales and Marketing people into systems and campaigns that deliver on commercial goals. This is a builder role through and through.

Supercritical sells carbon removal to the world's largest companies through 12+ month cycles against a constrained TAM. That is a small, senior, sophisticated buyer pool where volume outbound does not work but precision does.

You will sit in a marketing team of five alongside comms, content, events, product marketing, and policy, and work daily with the account directors and our commercial director. Our product team can support you on infrastructure, but this is a commercial role using technical tools, not a software engineering role.

What you'll be doing

  • Build the outbound and nurture engine:

    • Own the systems that move accounts from unaware to engaged to sales-ready: signal capture, scoring, sequencing, and escalation. Design it so an engaged account gets a next step without waiting for a rep.
    • Build campaigns that personalize at account level using our own data and research, then measure whether personalization actually changed behavior.
    • Ship small tools and calculators that earn attention and generate first-party data. Our SBTi calculator is the template: a mini product built with Claude Code, launched for engagement, then wired into outreach.
  • Ensure funnel truth:

    • Build on existing account engagement tracking in HubSpot.
    • Stand up coverage and pipeline reporting by account tier that runs without manual work.
    • Own data quality across enrichment, target list management, and CRM hygiene. Decide what to fix, what to automate, and what to leave alone.
  • Make events compound:

    • Own event-driven demand: pre-event target lists and outreach, post-event follow-up sequences, and per-event pipeline attribution. Events are our strongest channel and our pre-work and follow-up is manual, but shouldn't be.
  • Work the tooling and the stack:

    • Own our GTM stack decisions and integrations: HubSpot, enrichment, sending infrastructure, signal tools, and the LLM workflows that sit across them. You will have a tooling budget, but they need to work.
    • Partner with our Content and Campaigns Manager to build a context layer so automations and campaign quality does not drift as the system grows.
    • Partner with sales on adoption. Nothing you build matters if the account directors do not use it and get impact from it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll be great if you have

  • Five or more years in growth, demand generation, marketing operations, or revenue operations, with at least one year where you were the person building, not briefing.
  • Evidence you build: workflows, integrations, internal tools, or small products that a commercial team used. You've likely used tools like Clay, HubSpot, n8n or Make, APIs, SQL, Python, or Claude Code. But we care about what you shipped, not the tooling.
  • Hands-on LLM work beyond prompting in a chat window: agentic workflows, evaluation of output quality, and a clear view on where AI belongs and where it does not.
  • Commercial judgment. You can read a funnel, debate with a sales team about lead quality, and prioritize the three things that matter this quarter.
  • Experience with enterprise or ABM motions where the target list is small and named, rather than volume lead generation/PLG.
  • Comfort with technical subject matter. You will need to hold your own on carbon removal science well enough to build automations around it.
  • Self-direction. Point you at a problem and you will come back with an approach, not a request for a brief.

Nice to have

  • Climate tech, carbon markets, energy, or another market where buyers need educating before they buy.
  • Having built something publicly: a tool, a calculator, an open-source workflow, a newsletter with a system behind it.
  • Exposure to RFP-driven or procurement-led sales cycles.
  • Experience supporting events as a demand channel.

Our Values

We have set ourselves the mission of leading the carbon removal market to 14,000x its current size by 2050. In order to do that we need brave adventurers that think huge and deliver at speed. We call this the 14,000x mindset. The key components of the 14,000x mindset are:

🙋 Ownership mentality: We relish autonomy and we create it for others. We are deeply curious and thrive on understanding the root cause of complex problems. We take ownership over our own and our team’s development by giving and soliciting direct and actionable feedback.

🏎️ Move fast: We identify the most important problems to solve and cut everything else. We test ideas early so we don’t waste time on dead ends. We default to action and deliver awesome results.

☀️ Radiate positive energy: We come to problems with energy and passion. We nurture new ideas and engage positively in testing them. We inspire our colleagues to go further and are resilient to set backs. We recharge by taking time off. We are here for a great day, not a long day.
