Help Shape the Future of Plymouth
Plymouth City Council's Growth Directorate is delivering an ambitious programme of investment, regeneration, infrastructure improvement and service transformation. To support this agenda, we are seeking an exceptional Growth Performance Officer to provide strategic coordination, performance management and business planning support across the Directorate.
This is a newly created role offering a unique opportunity to influence how the Directorate plans, performs and delivers services that make a difference to Plymouth's residents, businesses and communities.
Reporting within the Growth Directorate and based within Street Services, you will provide directorate-wide leadership and coordination across a broad range of corporate and operational activities.
You will be responsible for driving performance, strengthening governance, and ensuring that senior leaders have access to timely, accurate and insightful information to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Coordinating Directorate business planning and performance management arrangements.
- Monitoring and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Supporting risk management, business continuity and information governance activities.
- Coordinating reports and forward planning for Cabinet, Scrutiny, Executive Decisions, Council and senior management meetings.
- Improving the provision of management information, insight, learning and action.
- Monitoring customer feedback, complaints, councillor casework and workforce metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Supporting financial management, savings delivery and service optimisation programmes.
- Helping coordinate Directorate engagement with Trade Unions and supporting Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives.
- Helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the Growth Directorate.

About You
We are looking for a highly organised and analytical professional who can work across complex services and build effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and stakeholders.
You Will Ideally Have
- Experience of performance management, business planning or corporate governance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present meaningful insights.
- Experience of preparing reports, briefings and performance information for senior decision-makers.
- Excellent organisational and project coordination skills.
- Knowledge of risk management, business continuity or information governance processes.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering excellent public services.
