Location: The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse The Promenade BLACKPOOL, Lancashire FY1 5AA United Kingdom

Contract Type: Fixed

End Date/Seasonal Hours: Full Time

The Actor plays a key role in delivering memorable experiences to all guests, embodying the Merlin values with enthusiasm and professionalism. This role requires a confident and engaging approach to guest interaction, with a focus on creating a fun, magical, and safe environment. Actors are expected to seek out guest contact, maintain a positive and high-energy presence, and communicate effectively with a diverse range of visitors and team members. The role involves costume character work, as well as hosting parties out of costume, reading stories and script work. Actors are also responsible for maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of public areas. The role includes following opening and closing procedures as outlined in operational plans, and ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and security standards. The position involves regular physical activity, including standing, bending, reaching, and kneeling for extended periods.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver Outstanding Visitor Experience
    • Go above and beyond to delight every guest—creating memorable moments, anticipating needs, and exceeding expectations to enhance the overall visit.
  • Ensure Exceptional Customer Service Standards
    • Provide a warm, friendly, and consistent level of customer service to all guests, maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Meet Daily KPI and Mystery Shopper Standards
    • Work towards achieving daily key performance indicators (KPIs), including Net Promoter Score (NPS), customer satisfaction, value for money, and sales targets.
    • Actively contribute to meeting and exceeding mystery shopper benchmarks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Scarily good customer service skills
  • Outgoing personality—you easily connect with people and love interacting with guests
  • Flexible and available to work evenings and weekends
  • Able to perform under pressure
  • Previous acting experience preferred
