GTM Engineer

Hybrid | North East Based GTM Engineering | RevOps | Automation | Data | Outbound

Are you someone who gets genuinely excited about taking a messy sales process and figuring out how to make it smarter, faster and more scalable?

We're working exclusively with an ambitious and rapidly growing digital business that is looking to appoint a GTM Engineer to join its sales team.

This is a new and highly hands-on role focused on building the systems, automation and data infrastructure that sit behind a modern outbound sales operation.

Rather than simply operating an existing sales process, you'll have the opportunity to build and improve the machinery that powers it.

You'll work across data, automation, prospecting and sales technology to help the business identify the right prospects, reach them at scale and continuously improve how its sales team generates pipeline.

You’ll need to be based in the North East England and happy to travel into Newcastle at least once per week.

The Role

As the GTM Engineer, you'll sit within the sales team and take ownership of the systems and processes that enable scalable outbound prospecting.

You'll combine commercial understanding with technical problem-solving to build smarter ways of finding, enriching, qualifying and engaging prospective customers.

This isn't a traditional sales role, and it isn't a conventional RevOps position focused purely on CRM administration and reporting.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building things.

You'll be given a commercial objective and expected to work out how technology, data and automation can help achieve it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Use AI and automation to improve the speed and quality of outbound activity.
  • Develop systems for personalised prospecting at scale.

About You

We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, technically curious and naturally obsessed with making things work better.

You don't necessarily need to have held the title "GTM Engineer". In fact, we'd expect some of the strongest candidates to come from adjacent backgrounds.

You may have worked in:

  • GTM Engineering
  • RevOps
  • Revenue Operations
  • Sales Operations
  • Sales Automation
  • Marketing Operations
  • Growth Operations
  • Sales Systems
  • Data / Analytics
  • SaaS sales with a strong technical or automation focus

You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Building or improving outbound sales systems.
  • Prospecting and lead generation at scale.
  • Data sourcing and enrichment.
  • CRM systems and sales technology.
  • Workflow automation.
  • Using APIs, integrations or automation platforms.
  • AI tools and their application within sales.
  • Working with large datasets and maintaining data quality.
  • Analysing sales data and using it to improve performance.
  • Understanding how B2B sales teams generate pipeline.

Experience with platforms such as Clay, Apollo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Make, Zapier, n8n, enrichment platforms or similar would be highly relevant.

Technical skills such as SQL, Python, APIs, web scraping or data manipulation would be advantageous, but we're more interested in what you've actually built and achieved than ticking off a particular technology list.

Most importantly...

You should be the sort of person who sees a manual process and immediately thinks:

"Why are we doing this manually?"

You enjoy experimenting with technology, figuring things out yourself and building solutions rather than waiting for somebody else to do it.

You'll also need enough commercial awareness to understand why you're building something and what impact it is supposed to have on pipeline and revenue.

If you're a RevOps, sales automation, data or GTM specialist who wants to move beyond simply managing systems and actually build the infrastructure behind a modern outbound sales operation, we'd love to hear from you.
