Powering Great Work
We started as the place to find a trusted trade. Now, as we shape the future of home improvement, we're building the tech to transform that landscape for everyone - better products, smarter data, AI where it actually helps - so trades can spend less time on admin and consumers can find someone they trust, first time. That's Powering Great Work, and it's why every team here exists:
- Trades spend less time on admin and more on winning work and growing their business
- Homeowners get a trusted trade, first time, every time
- We get to build products that change homes and lives across the country
As our GTM Talent Partner, you'll own hiring across a broad commercial area of Checkatrade, partnering closely with our leaders to find the people who'll help us get there.
We're a lean, hands-on Talent team, so this is much bigger than picking up reqs. You'll properly own your space: understanding the business, challenging what we actually need, using data to influence decisions and making our hiring and processes better as you go.
The job, unfiltered:
- Own end-to-end hiring across our GTM organisation, with a particular focus across Sales, Account Management, Revenue and Commercial Operations.
- Get properly under the skin of the areas you support: how they work, how they make money, what they're trying to achieve and the talent they need to get there.
- Partner with senior commercial leaders, building enough trust to challenge a brief, push back on an unrealistic expectation and bring a point of view rather than simply taking an order.
- Run multiple searches at once without losing pace, quality or candidate experience.
- Build strong passive pipelines and talent pools so we're not starting from zero every time a role lands.
- Use data to understand what's actually happening in your hiring. Think pipeline health, application sources, conversion rates, pass-through, rejection themes and market insight - then use it to recommend what we do differently.
- Use AI and modern tooling to make sourcing, screening, analysis and the wider hiring process smarter and more efficient.
- Keep Ashby useful and accurate. We actually use our hiring data to make decisions, so good ATS hygiene matters.
- Spot things that aren't working and help us fix them. You'll have space to improve processes, test new tools and challenge the way we've always done things.
- Get involved in wider TA projects across data, automation, tooling, employer brand and candidate experience.
- Be part of the wider People team, working closely with People Partners and other teams rather than operating in a TA bubble.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Basically, you'll hire great people, but you'll also help us build a better Talent function while you're doing it.
The fit:
The environment you've worked in matters to us. We're particularly keen to meet people who've been in-house in a fast-paced tech, scale-up or high-growth business, ideally as part of a lean Talent team where you've had genuine ownership of an area rather than one small part of the process.
You'll ideally bring:
- Strong in-house Talent experience within a fast-moving tech or high-growth environment.
- Solid GTM/commercial hiring experience, particularly across Sales, Account Management, Revenue or Commercial Operations.
- Experience working in a lean TA environment where you've owned hiring end-to-end and contributed beyond your individual reqs.
- Confidence partnering with senior commercial stakeholders who will challenge you and expect you to know your stuff.
- A genuinely data-led approach. You can use hiring metrics, pipeline data and market insight to diagnose a problem, tell a clear story and influence a decision.
- Strong sourcing skills and the confidence to proactively find great passive talent rather than relying on inbound applications.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in an environment where things move quickly and the brief isn't always perfectly formed.
- Curiosity around AI, automation and new recruiting technology, with hands-on experience using tools to make your work better.
- Strong organisation and communication. You keep things moving and don't let the important stuff fall through the cracks.
- A low ego and high standards. You'll challenge when you need to, take feedback well and care about making the whole team better.
