Summary
The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for driving the merchandising strategy and business performance of the assigned product category across the Northern & Central Europe region, ensuring alignment between Global and EMEAI objectives and local market needs.
Acting as the key point of contact for the assigned category, this role oversees buying activities, assortment optimization, stock productivity, and product performance. The Retail Merchandiser leverages business insights, market knowledge, and client understanding to maximize sales, profitability, and client experience.
In addition to owning the assigned category, the Retail Merchandiser supports the overall HUB business by contributing to cross-category analysis and store performance reviews during store visits, partnering closely with peers and regional stakeholders to identify commercial opportunities and operational improvements.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Own the merchandising strategy and execution for the assigned product category across the region.
- Lead buying activities for the assigned category, ensuring assortments reflect local opportunities while remaining aligned with global and EMEAI strategies.
- Monitor category performance, identify opportunities and risks, and define actions to optimize sales, productivity, stock efficiency, and sell-through.
- Drive stock optimization initiatives, including stock rebalancing.
- Monitor BOH efficiency and inventory productivity for the assigned category.
- Act as the primary merchandising contact for the assigned category between stores and the EMEAI Merchandising organization.
- Maintain a strong understanding of business trends, client behavior, competitive activity, and market dynamics impacting the category.
- Provide category insights and recommendations to the Head of Retail Merchandising and relevant stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Store Managers and Retail leadership to maximize category performance and identify commercial opportunities.
- Collaborate with Clienteling teams to translate customer insights into merchandising actions and assortment recommendations.
- Partner with MarCom teams to support category priorities and key product pushes across all relevant customer touchpoints.
- Collaborate with Visual Merchandising teams to ensure product presentation supports both brand and commercial objectives.
- Conduct regular store visits and provide a holistic assessment of business performance across all product categories.
- Support fellow Retail Merchandisers by contributing observations, recommendations, and action plans beyond the assigned category when visiting stores or supporting specific business initiatives.
- Foster collaboration across regional functions to ensure consistency and excellence in execution.

- Solid experience in Merchandising, Buying, or Retail Management within a luxury or premium retail environment.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills.
- Solid understanding of buying processes, assortment management, and inventory optimization.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and management levels.
- Strong knowledge of luxury retail, client behavior, and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance detailed category ownership with a broader business and store perspective.
- Availability to travel frequently across the markets and to HQ for buying activities.
