The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated user interface tests using Robot Framework, helping to ensure software releases are fully validated before deployment.
This role would suit an individual with early-career experience in software testing, quality assurance, or test automation who enjoys understanding how applications behave from an end-user perspective. The successful candidate will work with an established testing infrastructure and receive support from experienced engineers who have already developed the required tooling and test environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop automated GUI test scripts using Robot Framework.
- Create and maintain regression test suites for software releases.
- Analyse application user interfaces and identify expected behaviours for test validation.
- Execute automated test campaigns and document results.
- Investigate and report defects identified through testing activities.
- Work closely with software engineers and technical leads to understand system functionality.
- Support continuous improvement of automated testing coverage.
- Maintain test documentation and ensure traceability of test cases.
- Contribute to release validation activities prior to deployment.
- Assist in refining and enhancing existing test automation processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
