Engagement: B2B / Freelance Contract
Start: ASAP
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Guidewire Architect with deep expertise across Guidewire ClaimCenter, enterprise integrations, and preferably Guidewire Cloud. The consultant will lead solution architecture, define end-to-end designs, oversee delivery quality, and guide technical teams through implementation within a major UK insurance transformation programme. This role requires strong knowledge of Guidewire architecture patterns, API frameworks, domain modelling, and integration strategies — as well as the ability to engage confidently with senior business and technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture for Guidewire ClaimCenter and related ecosystem integrations.
- Produce High-Level Designs (HLD), solution blueprints, and API/interface specifications.
- Lead platform and integration architecture across ClaimCenter modules (FNOL, workflows, exposures, financials).
- Provide architectural governance, ensuring solutions align with programme standards and business objectives.
- Review functional and technical designs from development teams; ensure best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with business, technical, infrastructure, compliance, and security teams.
- Guide developers and technical leads on ClaimCenter configuration, integration and customisation approaches.
- Support delivery planning, estimation, sequencing, and environment strategy.
- Oversee integration architecture (REST/SOAP, ESB, event-driven messaging, microservices).
- Support Cloud architecture elements, including Guidewire Cloud APIs, data access, and edge services.
- Participate in architecture review boards and provide thought leadership on Guidewire and cloud technology decisions.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and fit for long-term enterprise use.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
