Guidewire Configuration Technical Lead – ClaimCenter Cloud

Location: UK
Employment: Permanent preferred; freelance/contract candidates may also be considered
Working Model: Hybrid / UK-based

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Guidewire Configuration Technical Lead to join a major UK Guidewire transformation programme. The successful candidate will lead the configuration workstream for Guidewire ClaimCenter Cloud, combining strong hands-on technical capability with team leadership and delivery ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Guidewire ClaimCenter configuration team across design, development, and delivery.
  • Take technical ownership of ClaimCenter Cloud configuration and customisation.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance across GOSU, Java, and Guidewire configuration.
  • Lead code reviews, technical design, and development standards.
  • Configure and extend ClaimCenter functionality in line with business requirements.
  • Work closely with integration, architecture, testing, and business teams.
  • Support interfaces and dependencies involving Guidewire Integration Gateway and wider cloud services.
  • Troubleshoot complex configuration, performance, and production issues.
  • Mentor Guidewire developers and provide technical leadership across the team.
  • Ensure solutions follow Guidewire Cloud best practices and development standards.
  • Support CI/CD, releases, and deployment into Guidewire Cloud environments.

Essential Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter.
  • Recent experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter Cloud.
  • Deep expertise in Guidewire configuration and customisation.
  • Strong GOSU development experience.
  • Strong Java experience.
  • Experience with Guidewire Home.
  • Good understanding of Guidewire Integration Gateway and cloud integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Guidewire data models, business rules, workflows, and configuration patterns.
  • Previous experience operating as a Technical Lead / Configuration Lead on a Guidewire programme.
  • Ability to lead and mentor developers while remaining technically hands-on.
  • Strong stakeholder and communication skills.
  • UK-based with experience delivering complex Guidewire programmes.

Desirable

  • Guidewire certifications/accreditations.
  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud migration or upgrade programmes.
  • UK insurance or London Market experience.
  • Experience with Guidewire APIs and integration architecture.
  • CI/CD and DevOps experience within Guidewire Cloud environments.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is not simply a Guidewire developer, but a hands-on Configuration Technical Lead capable of owning the ClaimCenter configuration workstream, guiding the development team, and working closely with integration and architecture teams throughout delivery.

Permanent candidates are preferred, although strong freelance/contract candidates can also be considered.
