Customer Service Assistant - Paddington Train Station

We are recruiting Customer Service Assistants to support customers at Paddington Station during planned railway engineering works.

As the first and last point of contact on a customer's journey, you will play a vital role in providing assistance, directions and travel information while replacement bus services operate in place of trains. This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring passenger safety are our top priorities.

Pay rate: £13.45

Dates

  • 27th November 2026 to 30th November 2026
  • 24th December 2026 to 3rd January 2027
  • Excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day

You must be available to commit to all required dates to be considered for this role.

Shift Times

  • Various AM and PM shifts are available, examples:
    • 08:00 - 14:00
    • 14:00 - 22:00

Additional shift patterns may be available depending on operational requirements.

Due to the nature of these engineering works and replacement transport arrangements, applicants must live locally to Paddington Station or have a reliable means of travelling to and from work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Meeting and greeting customers as they enter and leave the station.
  • Assisting customers with travel information and general enquiries.
  • Supporting passengers who require additional assistance.
  • Helping customers locate replacement bus services.
  • Maintaining a safe station environment.
  • Providing a friendly, professional and approachable service at all times.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 years or over.
  • Be physically fit and capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Hold a valid Right to Work in the UK.
  • Have good spoken English and clear communication skills.
  • Be able to commit to all required working dates.
  • Be reliable, punctual and professional.
