Hair & Beauty Vocational Tutor – Alternative Provision
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Holiday: 25 Days + Public Holidays

KPI Education is working with a growing Alternative Education Provider in Stoke-on-Trent to recruit an enthusiastic and engaging Hair & Beauty Vocational Tutor.
This is much more than simply teaching Hair & Beauty.
You'll be working with young people who may have struggled within traditional education, using practical vocational learning to rebuild their confidence, develop employability skills, and help them work towards a positive future.

The Role
As a Hair & Beauty Vocational Tutor, you will plan and deliver creative, practical, and engaging sessions while building strong relationships with your learners.
You'll have the freedom to bring Hair & Beauty to life through practical learning while ensuring students continue to develop their wider skills, knowledge, and behaviours.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging Hair & Beauty lessons and activities
- Creating lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning resources
- Providing individual mentoring and learner support
- Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback
- Creating a positive and stimulating salon environment
- Building trust and rapport with young people
- Supporting individual learning and achievement plans
- Maintaining accurate learner and compliance records
- Working closely with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Promoting safeguarding and learner wellbeing
- Supporting learners with their progression and career aspirations

Who Are We Looking For?
We're particularly interested in hearing from Hairdressers, Barbers, Beauticians, Hair & Beauty Tutors, Vocational Tutors, or Further Education professionals who have the personality and enthusiasm to engage young people.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills alongside the ability to create a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
Previous teaching experience would be advantageous, but equally, this could be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Hair & Beauty professional who is passionate about moving into education.
The successful candidate will be committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable young people, with the role subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
