Why This Role Is Available

Our guest facing team is currently comprised of 13 brilliant women across all roles. The studio team specifically has two full-time photographers and two full-time makeup artists. We are about to release evening sessions (5:30pm and 8:00pm) for our community, which has made room for two more full-time Photographers & HMUA's to join the company.

That means evenings as the shape of the role, not occasionally. We are looking for someone who actively wants those hours and prefers later starts and finishes, not someone willing to put up with them.

The role would be full-time starting December 1st 2026 in our new Farringdon headquarters, which we have just bought. For the right artists who impress us, paid training and onboarding may begin as early as October.

Our guests are all women as we specialise in fine art & implied nudity, you'll be part of an all-female creative floor team for their comfort and safety.

If you want to be part of a tight in‑studio team and push your styling craft to a world‑class standard, keep reading.

Your Mission

This role has two equally important parts: the artistry, and the relationship you build with each guest. You will be trained to build a complete camera-ready hair and makeup look to our standard within 60 minutes.

The makeup hour is also what we call discovery. You, the photographer and the guest are in the room together, and this time is used to get to know her before the shoot begins. You will have up to two pages of notes on her beforehand, covering why she is here, what she is hoping for, her insecurities, the kind of art she responds to, her creative profile and how she normally presents herself.

The consultation has already been done. Your job is to build genuine rapport with her in that hour. You then stay on set for the 60 minute shoot, managing her comfort and confidence throughout.

What The Role Entails

  • Create camera-ready hair & makeup for 3 guests a day.
  • Complete each look within the allocated time and keep sessions running to schedule (2 hours for a full experience, hair, makeup and shoot with 4 outfits).
  • While completing your makeup application, you are present, engaged and part of the conversation with the guest & photographer.
  • Hold meaningful conversations with guests from very different backgrounds. In one week that might include an eighteen-year-old and a seventy-four-year-old, a mother of four, an Olympic athlete, a student and a chief executive. Some are celebrating, others are working through something difficult.
  • Stay on set for the entire shoot, topping up / adjusting hair and makeup where needed. Supporting in the lighting and occasionally guest posing (where extra hands are needed). Noticing when a guest is tense and help her settle.
  • Handle the small details that make her day easier: a drink, a lipstick touch-up, packing her bag before she needs it.
  • Capture high-quality behind-the-scenes video for our use. Training is provided.
  • Keep an immaculate, organised station and follow strict hygiene and sanitation standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How We’ll Know You’re Winning

  • You arrive able to brief the team in detail on every guest in your chair that day: who she is, why she is here and what she is looking for. You have read her consultation before you walk in.
  • Guests are ready for the photographer on time, without rushing.
  • Guests leave positive feedback naming you, and often mention the conversation as well as the makeup.
  • You run full styling days independently on our busiest days while maintaining guest experience standards.
  • You work well with every member of the team. There are no cliques here. You support others and allow yourself to be supported.
  • Your station is clean, stocked and organised at all times.
  • You capture usable behind-the-scenes footage on most shoots without slowing the day down.
  • You finish your days feeling empowered rather than drained. This work is demanding, but it should not leave you depleted.

This Role Is For You If…

  • You love being busy, moving and on your feet all day.
  • You get genuine satisfaction from hitting tight timings and following checklists.
  • You care deeply about women feeling powerful and beautiful in their own skin.
  • You want to go all‑in on your craft, even if that means long, intense days rather than “perfect balance”.
  • You like clear standards, honest feedback and being held to numbers on timing, quality and guest experience.
  • You thrive in a high‑standard, direct, team‑first environment.

Requirements

  • At least two years working in the industry. Time spent studying does not count.
  • Complete confidence working across all skin tones, ages and ethnicities. We teach a great deal here, but we do not teach colour matching or the fundamentals of working with diverse skin.
  • Comfortable styling and supporting three guests per day, on your feet most of the time.
  • Strong hygiene standards and kit and product care.
  • You will work evenings and weekends consistently. These are not occasional shifts, they are the standard working pattern for this role.

Your Kit Is Provided

You do not need to bring hair tools, makeup or products of any kind. Our kit is extensive and built from the best products on the market, curated by our Studio Manager, who is an industry expert in makeup artistry and body painting.

Growth & Perks

  • Therapy, fully covered. Up to 30 sessions a year from day one. Independent, confidential and entirely yours.

  • Your artistry, championed. Real encouragement and support to push your own artistry, and the artistry of Body & Soul.
  • Gathered often. Team huddles, dinners, outings and community events through the year.
  • A team and community behind you. People who genuinely want you to be your best, and who help you grow.
  • A defined HMUA ladder, with pay rises tied to your results, behaviour and craft level rather than tenure.
  • Weekly 1:1 & coaching from your Studio Manager.
  • We do not currently employ, and are not looking for, part-time or freelance creatives.

Above everything, unimpeachable character.

  • Sincere Candour.
  • Radical Accountability.
  • Uncompromising Excellence.
  • Craft sits on top of that. We can teach craft. We cannot teach character, which is why your life experience counts here as much as your portfolio.
