Assistant salon manager and colour specialist

We are looking for an experienced hairdresser to join TONI&GUY Harrogate as our new Assistant Salon Manager and Colour Specialist.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants more than a busy column. You will play an important role in the daily running of the salon, support and motivate the team, and help us shape the next chapter of the business.
Our Harrogate salon is undergoing a full refurbishment in January 2027. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us, lead a talented and friendly team, and help create a salon that clients and colleagues genuinely enjoy being part of.
The role
You will combine working with your own clients as a colour technician and stylist with assistant management responsibilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering exceptional colour, cutting and styling services
- Building and maintaining a loyal clientele
- Supporting the daily running of the salon
- Leading and motivating the team alongside the Franchisee
- Monitoring individual and salon KPIs
- Creating team incentives and helping colleagues achieve their targets
- Supporting consultations, appointment management and the client journey
- Handling client concerns and complaints professionally and confidently
- Maintaining excellent standards across the salon
- Supporting team development, training and education
- Helping create a positive, accountable and enjoyable working environment
- Contributing ideas to grow the salon and improve its performance

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced and qualified hairdresser
- Has strong colour knowledge and a genuine passion for technical work
- Can confidently provide styling services alongside colour
- Has leadership or management experience, or is ready to take the next step
- Understands the importance of targets, KPIs, rebooking, retail and client retention
- Communicates clearly and handles challenges calmly
- Enjoys developing and encouraging other people
- Takes pride in delivering an outstanding client experience
- Is creative, reliable and commercially aware
- Wants to build a long-term career within a premium salon environment
You may already be TONI&GUY trained, but this is not essential. If you have the right experience, technical ability and attitude, we can train you to TONI&GUY cutting, styling and colour standards.
