halow is a Guildford-based charity dedicated to supporting over 350 young adults with learning disabilities and autism to access the same life choices and opportunities as their peers.
Role Description
Are you a teacher or youth worker looking for a role beyond the classroom?
We are seeking a Year Leader to design and deliver exceptional, community-based learning sessions on our Building Futures Programme. You will lead engaging, person-centred learning for groups of young adults with SEND primarily across Guildford and Woking (and some wider Surrey venues) to help learners develop confidence, social skills, independence and employability skills.
Role Type
- Full time, Permanent
- Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday 9am to 5.30pm | Occasional weekends and evenings
- Salary: £30,030
- Annual Leave: 33 days (including bank holidays) to be taken flexibly throughout the year
- Training: Fully paid, with ongoing development opportunities
- Start date: November

Key Responsibilities
- Freedom to design and deliver person-centred, goal-orientated sessions
- Support groups of 6–12 learners
- Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and support
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners
- Building meaningful relationships with learners and reviewing tangible progress
We're looking for:
- An understanding of learning disabilities
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills
- Experience delivering person-centred activities (e.g. education, youth work, events, or support roles)
- Good energy and stamina for active, community-based work
- Proactive, team-focused, and committed to continuous improvement
- Age 18+
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Willing to complete DBS check (initial cost paid by halow)
