Hand/MSK Senior Physiotherapist

Bournemouth Hospital | Physiotherapy | Permanent | Part Time

£44,000 per annum pro rata

7.5 hours per week

As a Senior Physiotherapist with experience in both MSK and hand therapy, you will need a BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. You will also need excellent clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills, and be committed to developing as a practitioner. We are looking for a confident communicator, skilled at engaging with all kinds of people.

As part of the team you will have regular clinical support available from your clinical lead and support from the physiotherapy manager and wider physio senior leadership team. The hospital is brilliantly placed to support and mentor the successful candidate for this role, alongside our academy training programmes.

This post is for 7.5 hours on a Monday.

As a Senior Physiotherapist with both MSK and hand therapy skills, you will:

  • See a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and post-operative cases, playing a key role in helping our patients achieve, maintain and recover to the level of health and wellbeing that they aspire to.
  • Have the relevant experience to be able to treat a wide range of hand conditions and have experience with post-operative care and making splints where needed.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, AHPS and consultants in order to optimise the health and recovery of our patients.
  • Deliver high quality, effective clinical care.

  • Ensure ongoing monitoring of the standard of treatment provided.
  • Be compliant with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes.

To succeed as a senior hand/msk physiotherapist, you will:

  • Have a BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent, you’ll be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Demonstrate evidence of further professional training and continual professional development, reflecting your desire to develop as a practitioner.
  • Be a confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with the general public and other healthcare professionals.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent rehabilitation skills.
  • Be a competent and confident IT user with strong organisation skills.
  • Have the ability to prioritise and deal with your varied workload in an effective and timely manner.
