About The Role
A Handy Man position is available in London with Red Personnel, offering a temporary contract of approximately four weeks starting 24th August 2026. The role pays £15.44 per hour via PAYE, with 37.5 hours weekly on a rota covering Monday to Sunday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Based within student accommodation, this hands-on assignment involves general repairs, upkeep tasks, and ensuring the building remains safe and presentable. The work suits a practical individual with strong all-round maintenance abilities, comfortable solving problems and performing varied fixes. Daily responsibilities include addressing resident concerns and completing routine maintenance to maintain a comfortable living environment. Prior handyperson or maintenance experience is essential for this busy, short-term placement.

We are seeking a reliable and practical Handyperson to join a busy student accommodation site in London on a temporary assignment.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone with strong all-round maintenance skills who enjoys fixing problems, carrying out repairs, and helping keep a building safe, presentable, and running smoothly. You'll be responsible for a wide range of day-to-day repair and upkeep tasks, ensuring residents have a comfortable and well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a variety of general repairs and maintenance tasks across the accommodation.
- Diagnose and resolve day-to-day building issues, including:
- Basic plumbing repairs
- Minor electrical works
- Window and door adjustments and repairs
- Basic decorating and patch plastering
- Complete routine property inspections and carry out remedial works as required.
- Respond promptly to repair requests and health and safety concerns.
- Log completed jobs and maintenance requests using internal systems.
- Help maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety throughout the property.
- Provide a friendly and professional service to residents and visitors.
- Support the wider facilities team with general building upkeep.

About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have experience working as a:
- Handyperson

- Facilities Assistant
- Building Maintenance Operative
- Multi-Skilled Operative
You Will Also Have
- Practical, hands-on experience carrying out general building repairs.
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Confidence using simple technology to log jobs and updates.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed.
