EQUANS is looking for a Handy Person to join our team in The Institute of Cancer Research, Sutton, London, SM2 5GP on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,000.00 - £33,076.36 depending on skills and experience and benefits package.
Shift times
- Monday - Friday 07.00 to 16.00
What will you deliver?
- Complete all planned maintenance (PPM) and record work details accurately using the PDA.
- Keep the customer's CAFM system updated with work progress, completed tasks, and any follow-up actions.
- Complete reactive maintenance work promptly and identify areas for improvement.
- Report and record equipment failures and defects, ensuring repairs are completed quickly.
- Maintain stock of necessary spare parts and provide parts information and repair timescales when needed.
- Carry out a Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) before starting work and report safety concerns.
- Follow approved Method Statements and Risk Assessments at all times.
- Work professionally and deliver services in line with customer and company standards.
- Supervise subcontractors working on site.
- Understand and meet contractual KPIs and SLAs.
- Participate in the on-call rota and attend emergency call-outs when required.
- Be flexible to work outside normal hours to support customer needs.
- Regularly inspect tools and test equipment to ensure they are safe and in date.

Who are we looking for?
- A recognised industry qualification would be desirable but not essential
- Previous experience in undertaking a similar role.
- Computer literate
- Good communicator
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
- Able to work as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Fluent in English both written and oral.
- Must be available to participate in an out of hour’s standby rota.
