Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils,

Handy Person – Casual Contract (required On An Adhoc Basis)

£13.50 up to £13.94 per hour (Pay award pending)

About The Housing Options Team

The Housing Options Team works across Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils to provide accessible, customer-focused housing advice and practical support to residents who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or need help to understand their housing options.

The team delivers a wide range of services, including homelessness prevention and relief, housing register and allocations work, temporary accommodation, rough sleeper support, financial inclusion, support for vulnerable households, and partnership working with landlords, registered providers, voluntary organisations and other agencies.

About The Role

We are recruiting for Handy Person bank staff within the Housing Services team at Wychavon and Malvern Hills District Councils. This is a practical, hands-on opportunity for someone who can work independently at short notice, solve property maintenance problems, arrange furniture deliveries, and support customers to set up a home with everyday essentials.

You will receive referrals from the Housing Options and Private Sector Housing Teams, helping new tenants settle into their homes through practical support such as delivering furniture and white goods, as well as assisting with basic repairs in some of the properties we manage.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
