Fabric Engineer / Handy Man — Ipswich

A leading FM provider has a need for an experienced Fabric Engineer / Handy Man to come and join a well-established static contract based in Ipswich. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company renowned for their internal progression, training, and long-term stability.
On offer:
- Competitive salary of up to £33,000
- Working Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00, 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- To carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance as instructed by the Helpdesk
- To undertake general building maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across the site
- To carry out basic repairs to doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other building fabric
- To assist with basic plumbing, carpentry, and decorating tasks where required
- To identify faults and report any issues requiring specialist attention
- To participate in the emergency call-out rota as required
- To carry out tasks within typical plant room environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders. All access equipment and PPE will be provided
- To keep and maintain all company-issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner
- To ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Role:
As the role involves working across the building and facilities, it is essential to demonstrate a good working knowledge of general building maintenance and fabric services, including but not limited to:

- General building maintenance
- Carpentry and basic joinery
- Plumbing repairs
- Painting and decorating
- Doors, locks, and ironmongery
- Walls, ceilings, and flooring
- General repairs and fault finding
- Safe use of hand and power tools
Qualifications:
- No formal qualifications required
- Previous experience in a fabric, handyman, maintenance, or facilities role preferred
- Building services knowledge advantageous
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role preferred
- Full UK driving licence advantageous
