Fabric Engineer / Handy Man — Ipswich

Benefits

A leading FM provider has a need for an experienced Fabric Engineer / Handy Man to come and join a well-established static contract based in Ipswich. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company renowned for their internal progression, training, and long-term stability.

On offer:

  • Competitive salary of up to £33,000
  • Working Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00, 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance as instructed by the Helpdesk
  • To undertake general building maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across the site
  • To carry out basic repairs to doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other building fabric
  • To assist with basic plumbing, carpentry, and decorating tasks where required
  • To identify faults and report any issues requiring specialist attention
  • To participate in the emergency call-out rota as required
  • To carry out tasks within typical plant room environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders. All access equipment and PPE will be provided
  • To keep and maintain all company-issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner
  • To ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Qualifications:

  • No formal qualifications required
  • Previous experience in a fabric, handyman, maintenance, or facilities role preferred
  • Building services knowledge advantageous
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role preferred
  • Full UK driving licence advantageous
