Handyman / Joiner : Self-Employed
Location: Hull and surrounding areas
Hours: 20 hours per week, plus overtime
Rate: Dependent on experience
Contract: Self-Employed
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Handyman / Joiner to carry out repairs and maintenance to residential properties across Hull and the surrounding area.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working independently and can turn their hand to a range of property repairs and maintenance work.
You should also have a good understanding of the building regulations and standards relevant to social housing and Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
The Role
Your Work Will Include
- General property repairs and maintenance
- Joinery repairs
- Repairs to doors and windows
- Basic painting and decorating
- Identifying faults and carrying out practical repairs
- Working in occupied residential properties, including social housing and HMOs
- Ensuring work is completed safely, tidily and to a good standard
- Carrying out work in line with relevant building regulations and property standards

The Ideal Candidate
You Will Need
- Previous experience in a handyman, joinery or property maintenance role
- Good practical joinery and general repair skills
- Knowledge of building regulations and standards relating to social housing and HMOs
- A full UK driving licence
- Your own vehicle initially - a company van will be provided in due course
- Your own basic tools
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- Flexibility to work additional hours/overtime when required
- Good communication skills and a professional manner when working in customers' homes

Previous experience working with Local Authorities, social housing providers or HMO properties would be particularly beneficial.
