About The Role

The Facilities Team Member position in Gillingham, offered through Pertemps Maidstone, is a full-time temporary assignment running from 09 August 2026 to 04 October 2026. Working 09:00 to 17:00 across Monday to Sunday, with weekend availability essential, the role pays £14.31 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE. Within a customer-focused accommodation setting, you will deliver both planned preventative and reactive maintenance. Duties involve maintaining safety, security, cleanliness, and compliance standards throughout the site. This position suits someone with practical maintenance skills and a reliable approach. Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Handyman to join a busy and customer-focused accommodation and facilities environment in Gillingham, Kent on a temporary assignment from 09/08/2026 until 04/10/2026.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Handyperson, Handyman, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative, Caretaker, Building Services Operative, Facilities Operative, Property Maintenance Technician, Site Assistant, or General Maintenance Operative.

Handyman Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
  • Complete routine building inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Undertake general building repairs and maintenance work.
  • Repair and maintain doors, windows, and associated fixtures.
  • Support emergency building repairs and seasonal project work.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and escalate issues where necessary.
