# Handyman – Maintenance Department

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman to join our Maintenance Department, ensuring our properties remain safe, clean, and occupancy-ready.

This hands-on role covers:

  • Minor repairs
  • Painting
  • End-of-tenancy deep cleans
  • Lock changes

You will work across London properties, so a valid UK driving licence is essential.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

Painting & Decorating

  • Carry out touch-ups and full interior/exterior painting.
  • Maintain property appearance.

Cleaning

  • Deep clean vacated/void units, including:
    • Kitchens
    • Bathrooms
    • Communal areas

Furniture Delivery & Assembly

  • Transport and install furniture and white goods.
  • Operate within the Greater London area.

Lock Changes & Basic Repairs

  • Change or repair locks as needed.
  • Handle general maintenance, including:
    • Fixing doors/windows
    • Tiling
    • Minor carpentry
    • Basic plumbing

End-of-Tenancy Preparation

  • Prepare units for re-letting, including:
    • Waste removal
    • Tagging tenant belongings

Rubbish Collection Assistance

  • Assist with:
    • Waste removal
    • Sorting
    • Disposal from vacated units

Health & Safety

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies during all tasks.

Skills & Knowledge

Required:

  • Previous experience as a handyman or in property maintenance.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Basic carpentry
    • Plumbing
    • Tiling
    • Decorating
  • Ability to independently identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong communication skills (polite, respectful with residents).
  • Effective time management and task prioritisation.
  • Physically fit with ability to:
    • Perform manual labour.
    • Lift/reach (e.g., ladders).
  • Basic IT skills for work reporting/logging.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
