Pay £13.45 per hour (Salary £26,300 per annum, pro rata) + Health Cash Plan

We have a brilliant opportunity to join our fantastic team in Exeter. We are the multi-skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers.

We work with customers who have experienced homelessness, across a range of properties and grounds. As our handy person you’ll spend much of your time working at Prospect House in Exeter with occasional visits to our site in Northgate court.

Typical day

  • Perform minor or emergency repairs, decorating and cleaning in properties and communal areas.
  • Handle tasks like hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touching up paint, changing washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns and clearing grounds.
  • Carry out regular fire safety checks.
  • Work closely with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
  • Liaise with Customer Service Centre and contractors to report and follow up on repairs outside your remit.

Job details

  • Permanent, part-time (12 hpw). We mainly work flexible hours to be agreed at interview.
  • You’ll be based at Prospects House in Exeter, you'll also provide support at another site within the local area as part of your role.
  • Occasionally you’ll head outside the patch for all hands on deck situations.
  • You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
