Job Description

We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Chicken Hanger Operative to join our team at our Flixton site near Bungay.

Rate of pay:

£14.33 per hour

Working hours:

5:00am–3:30pm

As a Chicken Hanger Operative, you will work within our poultry-processing operation and play an important role in maintaining an efficient production process while meeting our strict bird-welfare, health and safety, food-safety and quality standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Hanging chickens onto the processing shackles following kill.
  • Handling birds correctly and in accordance with all site bird-welfare procedures.
  • Maintaining a high level of health and safety awareness throughout your shift.
  • Following all food-safety, hygiene and quality procedures.
  • Working accurately and efficiently within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Rotating between different duties and workstations as required.
  • Using the correct personal protective equipment for every task.
  • Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised.
  • Reporting any welfare, safety, quality or equipment concerns to your supervisor promptly.
  • Working closely with colleagues to achieve production targets without compromising safety, welfare or quality.

Qualifications

No previous factory experience is required, as full training will be provided, including Level 1 and Level 2 Health and Safety certification. Previous experience within a factory, poultry-processing or food-manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
