Principal Hardware Architect & Team Lead
£120,000 - £150,000 + Bonus + Benefits + Relocation Support + Visa Sponsorship
South Coast | Hybrid Working
If you're leading a hardware team in a large organisation, there's a good chance you've become further removed from the engineering than you'd like.
Architecture decisions become committee decisions. Customer interaction sits elsewhere. Product strategy is owned by somebody else.
This opportunity offers something different.
We're looking for a Principal Hardware Architect & Team Lead to help shape the future of advanced communications technology. You'll influence technical direction, work directly with customers, lead a talented engineering team and remain close to the architecture decisions that determine the success of the product.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Perhaps you've progressed into management and find yourself spending more time in meetings than engineering.
Or perhaps you're the architect everyone relies upon but have never been given the opportunity to lead a team.
This role sits firmly between the two.
A chance to shape technology strategy, lead exceptional engineers and remain close to the decisions that ultimately determine whether a product succeeds or fails.
